This is my last day on set filming the movie ‘A Life Less Empty’. This guy right here is my friend Nathaniel Arcand who is playing my boyfriend in the film. This pic was one of the stills from the film! Looking forward to you all watching the movie! Rueben Martell is a director, writer and actor in the film. I really had a great time working with the cast & crew! And the best part of working on new projects is making new friends! Congrats to Larissa Papin who did such a good job on the film and who is also making her first debut in a movie. Was such a pleasure working with everyone involved! The movie isn’t finished yet and I’m looking forward to coming back to Saskatchewan for all of the winter scenes!

7 Reasons Why First Nations People should Vote today!

1. By voting we are letting the governments know that they can’t continue to ignore our concerns and demands.

2. Based on previous years the governments depend on the fact that there is a low turn out amongst First Nations people, therefore Native Issues are not an issue for them. By casting a vote we are letting the governments know that First Nations issues do matter and in future elections First Nations issues will be on the table.

3. By voting we are letting the government know that they cannot try to suppress our vote. And despite them trying to suppress our vote we will make it happen because our vote does matter! I had an issue with this first hand when I was trying to register my vote online when I was changing my address to my reservation address. The website did not recognize my reservation address because the website did not recognize my reservation address because my reservation uses P.O. Boxes.

4. By voting you are changing history! Lets have a high voting turn out this year and let the government know that we will be silent no more!

5. By voting we can let the government know that we will no longer stand for the mistreatment of native people. This includes having clean water on reservations, respecting land treaties & increased investments in education or our people. Cutbacks are not acceptable!

6. By voting we are saying that is it is not okay to continue to rape our land and water! Two bills were introduced by the Harper Government in 2012 (Bills C-45 & Bill C-38) which removed the protections of water and forests.

7. By voting, Native people have the power to influence the ridings results. The conservatives currently hold 20 seats of the 51.

Lets stop being silent! Let’s let the government know that it is not okay to ignore us anymore. Let’s make sure that our future kids will have a safe and healthy environment to live in!
